Blue Jays' Janssen returns from DL

The Sports Network

Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - The Toronto Blue Jays received a boost Sunday with closer Casey Janssen being activated from the 15-day disabled list.

Janssen began the season on the DL because of left abdominal lower back strain. He tossed three scoreless innings during a rehab stint with Double-A New Hampshire.

The right-hander converted 34 of his 36 save opportunities while compiling a 2.56 earned run average last season.

Second baseman Chris Getz was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Getz batted .160 (4-for-25) in 10 games for the Blue Jays this season.
