Miami Beach police have apprehended a suspect in a shooting and attempted car theft Wednesday night but the search continues for a second suspect.

Police responded to 85th Street and Byron Avenue around 9:15 p.m. regarding a call that shots had been fired, said detective Vivian Hernandez of the Miami Beach Police Department.

While there, officers were flagged down by a woman who said two suspects tried to steal her car and fired shots at her house. The first apprehended suspect is a man about 6 feet, 4 inches tall and wore a white tank top. The other suspect was about 5 feet, 3 inches, stocky build and wore an orange striped shirt, Hernandez said.

SWAT members and a helicopter were on the scene looking for the second suspect. No one was injured.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call (305) 673-7901.
