Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Victor Martinez's solo homer in the sixth inning proved to be the difference in the Detroit Tigers' 3-2 victory over the Houston Astros on Wednesday.

Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run homer for the Tigers, who have won the first three games of this four-game series.

Rick Porcello (5-1) allowed two runs on seven hits with five strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings for Detroit, which has won eight in a row.

Marwin Gonzalez and Dexter Fowler each had an RBI for the Astros, who have dropped five straight. Brad Peacock (0-3) gave up three runs on four hits with four walks over 6 2/3 innings.
