Secretary of State John Kerry’s careless reference or implication that Israel is or might become an “apartheid state” rightfully incensed many Jews and others. The word “apartheid” is an anathema to Israel. Nowhere else in the world are Jews, Gentiles, Muslims, blacks and whites and all others treated as equals.
I just returned from leading the 28th annual Allied Mission to Israel and we saw that Israel is color blind, accepting of all races, religions and places of origin. This was a mistake on Secretary Kerry’s part, and I am pleased that he immediately apologized for misspeaking.
