I keep seeing articles about millionaires and billionaires who own professional sports franchises begging for relief from taxes. What is more disturbing is that our representatives, in both Broward and Miami-Dade counties, seem more than willing to give the breaks to them. This is ridiculous.
At a time when public budgets are hurting, there are many projects that deserve funding and Miami-Dade is considering closing libraries, there is no room for tax cuts for the super wealthy. These teams are supposedly private enterprises; let them act like it. No one subsidizes my office with tax breaks.
