The Sports Network

Munich, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Top seed Fabio Fognini and Slovakian qualifier Martin Klizan won semifinal matches on Saturday at the $590,000 BMW Open.

The gritty Italian Fognini cruised past German qualifier Jan-Lennard Struff 6-3, 6-1, while Klizan took down second-seeded German Tommy Haas 6-3, 6-2.

Haas beat Philipp Kohlschreiber in last year's all-German BMW final and was also the runner-up at this event 14 years ago.

Fognini, who improved to 26-8 this year, will play in the eighth final of his career (3-4). Klizan, meanwhile, will appear in his second ATP World Tour final (1-0).

Fognini is 3-1 lifetime against Klizan, but the Slovakian defeated the Italian in his only previous final, at St. Petersburg in 2012.

This week's champion will earn $107,000.
