The recent ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court upholding Michigan’s ban on further affirmative action in university admissions is the beginning of the end of the pattern of politically correct reverse racism.
Colleges, and all other facets of American life, should encourage the most qualified, without regard to or reward for race, religion or national origin. Germanic peoples coped with initial discrimination and ultimately got ahead purely with ability in the 1870s, as then did the Irish, Italians, Jews and lately Asians. Unqualified African Americans have no right to displace more competent people for college spots or jobs based solely on their color or what transpired with their ancestors six or seven generations ago.
