The 2nd annual Humphrey Bogart Film Festival kicks off on Thursday

 

The second annual Humphrey Bogart Film Festival kicks off on Thursday in Key Largo. The festival will be hosted by Stephen Bogart, son of Bogie and Lauren Bacall, film historian Leonard Maltin and Miami filmmaker Billy Corben. Also in attendance this year will be actress Carly Pope ( Elysium) who stars in This Last Lonely Place, the first movie from the Humphrey Bogart Estate's Santana Films, and Olivia Thirlby ( Juno), who stars in The White Orchid, the next film noir from Santana Films. Thirlby will be honored with the Rising Star award at the Bogart Ball on Saturday at the Hilton Hotel in Key Largo. For ticket information and schedule of events, visit bogartfilmfestival.com.

After her duet with Andrea Bocelli Thursday at the Latin Billboard Awards, singer Laura Pausini had lunch Friday at Caffe Abbracci. Bocelli was supposed to join her before she headed home to Italy, but he wasn't able to make it.

Miami Beach preteen Jolie Dreiling, 12, daughter of bon vivant Michael “Nostradamus of Trend” Dreiling, and current Jr. IBM Magic Champion, will compete on Memorial Day weekend in Orlando for the Florida Magician's Association 50th anniversary convention. She’ll defend her title as Miami's magic champ and hopefully bring the trophy back and continue on her abracadabra tour of world domination.
