Chris Martin didn’t sign a confidentiality agreement, apparently: The Coldplay singer opens up about his broken marriage to Gwyneth Paltrow in a new interview with BBC Radio 1 host Zane Lowe. In the sit-down, set to air Monday, Martin chats about the “challenges” he is facing as a single dad. Watch it on YouTube.
That’s a wrap! Kate Middleton, Prince William and 9-month-old Prince George finished their tour of Australia and New Zealand and headed home to the U.K. Friday. They boarded a plane at Faribairn Airbase in Canberra and were seen off by Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott and his wife Margie. The Daily Mail calculated that Kate’s designer wardrobe (lots of Alexander McQueen) over three weeks Down Under amounted to about $50,000.
Sphere of influence
Beyoncé takes the prime spot as the cover girl on Time magazine’s annual list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. Also making the cut were actors like Amy Adams, Benedict Cumberbatch, Matthew McConaughey, Robert Redford and Kerry Washington, along with musicians Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams and Carrie Underwood. The Time 100, in its 11th year, focuses on “figures whose influence is likely to grow, so we can look around the corner to see what is coming.”
No more tantrums for Justin Bieber? The singer seems to have turned over a new leaf (unless his publicist is typing his posts). Bieber seemed in great spirits despite being held up at LAX for routine questioning Thursday (the Canadian is a foreign national, after all). “Life is good. Keep it positive always,” Bieber Tweeted to his 51 million followers. Meanwhile, maybe he hasn’t heard, but L.A. detectives investigating a felony vandalism case against him have obtained a search warrant for the pop star’s Instagram account. They’re investigating the Biebs on a possible felony case alleging he threw eggs at a neighbor’s home in Calabasas Jan. 9 and are trying to match Bieber’s outfit from photos he posted with footage from his surveillance cameras.
She’s not sorry
Joan Rivers refuses to apologize for comparing living in her daughter Melissa’s guest room with the captivity of three women kidnapped in Ohio. Rivers discussed her reality show on NBC’s Today, and complained about her living arrangements, saying, “Those women in the basement in Cleveland had more space.” In a statement, Rivers says it was a joke.
Hooray for Bollywood
Indian cinema, food and style have overtaken Tampa for the 15th annual International Indian Film Academy awards. Bollywood celebs (like Slumdog Millionaire star Anil Kapoor), directors and fans have been streaming into the city in preparation for the main event Saturday.
Back on set
Actors don’t take paternity leave. New dad Jason Sudeikis was photographed showing off pictures of his new baby with Olivia Wilde on the set of his upcoming movie, Tumbledown. Otis was born Wednesday.
Ouch! Danica McKellar broke a rib during a rehearsal for Dancing with The Stars.
