Sweetwater’s must-see TV: City to rebroadcast commission meetings

Sweetwater residents who can’t catch the live broadcast of the City Commission’s monthly meeting will soon have a chance to see what they missed.

Earlier this month, the commission agreed to purchase equipment that will allow rebroadcasting the meetings on government access Channel 77.

The city’s IT manager, Frank Ramos, says that will allow residents to stay informed if they miss the broadcast the first time around.

“It will allow for the commission meetings to be recorded and rebroadcasted on Channel 77 and for the chamber to be used for other purposes like presentations, training and other city meetings.”

The commission agreed to spend a little more than $19,600 on a 360 MAXX-1000 with 4 TB of storage, redundant power supply, routing switch, monitors and additional components to support the installation equipment.

“The current infrastructure is not operative and obsolete,” he said.

The equipment will installed in the next 45 to 90 days.
