Doctors Charter boys’ track relay teams qualifiy for states

 

The Doctors Charter boys’ track 4x100 relay team will head to the state championship for its second year in a row. Abigael Neus, Sam Mompremier, Jeanmaxon Adrien, and Cameron Floyd. Darwin Abreu qualified fourth overall in the mile. The 4x400 relay team, Torrian Wallace, Jovyn Pierre, Andrew Dodds, and Jonathan Gill needed to finish fourth out of 16 teams and run under a 3:42 to qualify for states. Freshman Jonathan Gill lead the team to a time of 3:36, awarding them fourth place to also qualify them for states.

WATER POLO

The MAST Academy boys and girls team defeated Miami Beach to take home the district championships for the first time in more than 10 years.

Judith Bellini had great defense in the cage from goalie and team captain Cara Mullery led in the water. Mullery is not only the leading scorer for MAST, but she also leads in assists and steals. The score was tied at 9 at the end of the fourth quarter when Madison Richards scored a goal right off a fast break for the victory.

Boys’ Goalie Chris Penelas showed great defense and Jesus Escudero kept Miami Beach to four goals.

    Westminster Christian football team has lofty title goals in 2014

    A historic 2013 football season for Miami-Dade County included a record four state champions. Westminster Christian, a state semifinalist in Class 3A, finished a couple of wins short of joining the festivities.
