Woman accused of practicing medicine in her garage

Pembroke Pines Police arrested a woman Wednesday who is accused of practicing medicine without a license and using her garage as a doctor’s office.

Alejandra Tobon, 43, was arrested on charges of unlicensed practice of healthcare profession and practice of medicine without a license.

Detectives said an investigation revealed Tobon performed unlicensed cosmetic procedures inside the garage of her residence at 1251 NW 154th Ave.

According to police, they started investigating Tobon after a former client tipped them off. The unidentified client had suffered an adverse reaction after allegedly receiving Botox injections from Tobon in December 2013.

Her garage had allegedly been converted to have the appearance of a doctor’s office.

Tobon was allegedly performing Botox injections, filler injections, vitamin injections, plasma therapy and Carboxy therapy.

Police said she is not licensed in the state to perform those treatments, meaning her alleged actions are a third-degree felony.

Detectives are looking for possibly more victims of Tobon.
