The unfortunate and tragic stabbing of over a dozen teens by one of their peers recently in a Pennsylvania high school was another stark reminder of the violent times we live in and the potential for violence our children are exposed to when they attend what should be an educational sanctuary.
The only difference this time was that unlike Columbine, Sandy Hook, and the countless other schools where violent attacks have occurred, the weapon of choice was a pair of ordinary kitchen knives.
Where is the call for a nationwide ban on cutlery as is often the case when the mode of attack is a shooting?
The bottom line is that the potential for violence exists everywhere, regardless of the weapon used.
I, for one, reserve the the right to defend myself and anyone with me and I refuse to accept anyone's efforts to take that right away from me.
