When driving I have been practicing a laissez-faire attitude for many years now since it is totally useless to get upset, especially here in Miami Beach where we have so many visitors trying to find an address or just enjoying the views.
Telling myself “go ahead, my friend, enjoy my city or good luck finding your address” is good for my liver and nervous system for sure.
Of course, in order to be able to have that attitude behind the wheel, I have to drive on the defensive all the time.
I do not take for granted that the cars/drivers close to me will follow all traffic laws or even know where they are going. So “it is OK with me, my friend, go ahead and do what you have to” should be practiced by all.
