In the April 10 article MDC President Padrón expresses ‘regret’ for personal shots at Miami-Dade lawmakers, Rep. Eddy Gonzalez, who chairs the Miami-Dade delegation, says, “What’s sad is that most of our delegation would have voted for the bill. Now, some of the members won’t be pushing to get the proposal [on the House floor] because of the comments that were made.”
What’s really sad is that lawmakers, who are elected to represent our best interests, can let personal issues affect their decisions. It is unfair to us, the voters of Miami-Dade County, and to all future students who would benefit from attending Miami Dade College.
