Austin Mahone is 18, folks. So, seriously, time to lock up your daughters. The pop star lives in the Fort Lauderdale area and he’s got wheels.
The What About Love singer’s birthday was Friday, so the weekend was full of festivities. That night, he went out to Prime Italian, where he was feted with a cake topped with a piano, reports Scene in the Tropics. On Saturday, the newly minted Justin Bieber collaborator rode around Miami Beach on a red and black Segway — yes, to match his Range Rover — posing for fans, aka Mahomies. Later, Austin tweeted to his 5.6 million followers that he went jet-skiing.
We tell you, this guy’s going places. Check him out April 27 when he presents and performs at the Radio Disney Music Awards on The Disney Channel.
Spreading the wealth
When you’re LeBron James you don’t need to clip Groupons. On Thursday night the Miami Heat star was spotted out at riverside hotspot Seasalt & Pepper with a dozen or so business associates and pals including Ernie Ramos and Maverick Carter. The tab? A cool $18,000, say restaurant reps. No word on what they ate, but let’s hope they didn’t have to go out for a slice later. Another thing if you’re LeBron? No need to consult a stylist before going out. No. 6’s fashion choice: a Pharrell-style Ranger Rick hat in black.
Good to be good
Jason Kennedy comes clean about his, um, clean-cut image in the April issue of Glamour. The E! News correspondent, who who grew up in Lighthouse Point and graduated from the University of Miami School of Communication, tells the magazine that “being a so-called good boy has paid off for me. I’ve got my dream job. And I’ve found my dream girl.” That would be fashion blogger Lauren Scruggs, who lost her left eye and hand after walking into a small plane’s propeller in 2011. Kennedy subscribes to the belief that being a good guy can take you far, even in Hollywood. “[W]hen I sit down to interview the biggest actors in Hollywood, the true A-list guys like Matt Damon or a George Clooney … the most successful ones seem to be the nicest.” But it wasn’t always this way for the 32-year-old journalist, who’s had his share of cocky moments. “The last time I was an a--hole was probably when I first started at E! eight years ago. I was in Miami, and we couldn’t get into this club. Everyone wants to get in somewhere. The door guy was being really rude. And I may or may not have said under my breath, ‘You know, E! is on the air in 120 countries.’ ”
Adrienne Bailon will be front and center this weekend. The former Cheetah Girls singer is the guest of honor at Venue magazine’s VIP cover party celebrating its May/June edition (fronted by Bailon), Saturday night at Adore Nightclub in Miami Beach. As Venue’s executive editor, Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Echevarria had a hand in who fronts the cover amid her other duties.
