What's on your nightstand?

No slam-dunks. No three-pointers. Just plenty of out-of-bounds laughs. That’s precisely what went down as a bevy of Miami Heat stars—plus a few hundred of their closest friends—gathered at the Fillmore Miami Beach for Shane and Heidi Battier’s third annual South Beach Battioke benefiting The Battier Take Charge Foundation, which provides educational resources for underserved kids and teens. Just picture the tip-off: Shane Battier and teammate Greg Oden take the stage with The Hangover star Ken Jeong for a hilarious—and totally off-key—rendition of The Backstreet Boys’ I Want it That Way. Of course, the trio was not to be outdone, as evidenced by another trio: LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem, who named themselves “The Heatles,” and took a shot at belting out the hit song Blurred Lines. The undeniable highlight of the evening was watching award-winning rocker Jimmy Buffett join Heat President Pat Riley for a gut-busting performance of I Heard It Through The Grapevine. And while it was a mostly male review, the ladies didn’t fall behind: actress Gabrielle Union, Heidi Battier and Adrienne Bosh sang Friends In Low Places in a fantastic girls-only number. Between songs, Shane Battier auctioned off a championship finals champagne bottle signed by the team (which sold for $24,000) and a day trip on an 80-foot luxury yacht with the Battiers and several Miami Heat teammates (which sold for $35,000.) All in, close to $300,000 was raised—a slam-dunk after all.
