Big screen

Opening Friday

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (PG-13): The early word on the latest installment in the adventures of the shield-wielding superhero (Chris Evans) is that this may be the best Marvel Studios movie to date. Scarlett Johansson and Anthony Mackie are the Black Widow and the Falcon, respectively. Robert Redford (!) plays some kind of baddie.

Jinn (PG-13): Dominic Rains stars in this fantasy-thriller about a man who discovers he’s part of a forgotten race of beings made of smokeless fire.

Rene Rodriguez

Small screen

How I Met Your Mother (8 p.m. Monday, CBS): We know who the mother is, but not exactly how. Now that Barney and Robin are finally hitched, we’ll find out in tonight’s one-hour series wrap-up.

The Voice (8 p.m. Tuesday, NBC): In a conscious coupling, Coldplay frontman and Gwyneth Paltrow-ex Chris Martin advises contestants (but probably not about relationships).

The Mindy Project (9 p.m. Tuesday, Fox): Mindy Kaling’s sitcom returns from hiatus with back-to-back episodes.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (8 p.m. Thursday, ABC): Tonight’s season finale is probably all she wrote for the ill-fated spin-off.
