American Social, the gastro pub that originated on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, said it is opening an additional site in the Brickell area.

Restaurateurs Paul Greenberg and Rick Mijares recently signed an agreement to open a second location of American Social, which is known for craft beers, cocktails and comfort food.

The new American Social, at 690 S.W. 1st Ct., below the Neo Vertika lofts, will have 6,500 square feet of space and more than 3,000 square feet of waterfront dining on the Miami River.

The space, formerly Waxy O’Connors, will be remodeled and renovated in advance of the restaurant’s fall opening, the owners said.
