WLRN-Miami Herald News wins 11 first-place Florida AP Broadcasters awards


The WLRN-Miami Herald News team received 11 first-place awards at the Florida Associated Press Broadcasters banquet over the weekend, including the title for best overall in large-market radio.

Education and health reporter Sammy Mack won big, taking home a first-place award for best mobile journalism for her piece on giant African land snails and a first-place award for best individual achievement in large-market radio.

The station’s Elevation Zero series on sea-level rise also won first place for series reporting.
