Skateboarder killed in North Miami Beach crash

A teenager skateboarding along a North Miami Beach street was killed Sunday afternoon when she was hit by an SUV.

The 19-year-old, who has not been identified, was riding north on Northeast 23rd Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. when she was struck by a white Ford sedan traveling eastbound on Northeast 137th Street, according to North Miami Beach Police.

The young woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
