Going against my pro-life position, I find myself agreeing with Leonard Pitts in his March 18 column, Who cares about Florida’s children once they’ve been born? Some of these battered children would have been better off being killed in the womb, rather than tortured by illiterate, drug-addicted, uncivil parents. Who decides which individuals are going to be child killers?
The Department of Children & Families is incompetent, and Pitts blames that on underfunding or budget cuts.
How about the real problem: Parenting and the need to put God, marriage and family values back into our society. We have created a welfare state of underachievers with no morals or scruples; and yes, some of them torture children.
