L.A. street artist Kai Guetta will unveil a rather unique collection of work at the LULU Laboratorium in Wynwood, March 28-April 15. Now Royalty is a series of 27 original oil-on-canvas pieces in gawdy frames featuring bold-faced names like Rick Ross, Kanye West, Diddy, Eminem, Drake and other urban (music) legends dressed in period-style garb.
“I hope the exhibit will open some creative doors for me, which will allow me to get back in the studio and create more work,” said Guetta, of the Now Royalty collection, which made headlines after reprints were placed over ads in the subway (Metro) at the Louvre-Rivoli Museum in Paris.
A cocktail party preview will be held at LULU 7 p.m. March 27. Info: 305-438-0071.

Emilio Estefan isn’t just hawking rum (he’s the face of Guatemalan brand Botran). The mega music producer helped the city of Miami Beach mark its 100th birthday with a line of sunscreen products at the Friday night launch of Miami Beach Suncare held on the sands of you-know-where. City officials partnered with Destination Brands International to create the five-product line of sunscreens and bronzers; a portion of the proceeds will go to local cleanup efforts, says Benjamin Leon III, MBSC founder. They really are trying to make it work (we think). Privacy seeking Juan Pablo Galavis looks as if he may try out the whole reality show thing again. The besieged Bachelor and “winner” Nikki Ferrell was spotted having lunch on Tuesday on the outdoor terrace of the Rusty Pelican. His companions beside Ferrell: Wetv’s Marriage Boot Camp counseling duo, Jim and Elizabeth Carroll. Sorry, the server didn’t spy on their conversation so that’s all we got right now.
