9 students left with minor injuries after Pompano Beach bus crash

A Pompano Beach Middle School bus had its Monday afternoon trip interrupted by a rear-end collision — though no major injuries were reported.

While at a railroad crossing stop at 14th Street and Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach, the bus was rear-ended by a flatbed truck. The bus had 31 students on board, authorities said. After the crash, two adults and nine children on the bus complained of head and neck pain, and were taken to Broward Health North hospital for treatment.

All the injuries were considered minor, authorities said. Those students not injured on the bus were also taken to the same hospital for observation — as a precaution.

The Sun-Sentinel contributed to this report.
