Police charge man in shooting, killing wife behind daycare

Antonio Wilcox has been charged with second-degree murder for, police say, gunning down his wife behind a North Miami-Dade daycare center.

Miami-Dade Police say Wilcox, 41, got into an argument with his wife, Michelle, 33, just after 3 p.m. Wednesday. Witnesses told police the woman bolted out of her Opa-locka home and ran two blocks trying to escape her shooter.

She was shot to death on the swale behind the Academy of Knowledge daycare center.

Police said the couple had been married 12 years and had a child.

Investigators say the husband confessed to shooting and killing his wife.
