GetMyRx mobile prescription service launches in Broward

GetMyRx announced Friday that its smartphone-enabled prescription delivery service is now available in Broward County. Since launching in Miami-Dade in January, the Miami-based startup's free GetMyRx app lets consumers skip the trip to the pharmacy -- and the long wait -- and order new or existing prescriptions from local pharmacies that provide free same-day delivery to their homes or offices. The GetMyRx pharmacy network will cover 100 percent of Broward County residents, said Luis Angel, founder and CEO.

During the inaugural program in Miami, hundreds of prescriptions were processed through the GetMyRx app, and pharmacies typically delivered within a couple of hours. Consumer ratings were strong and pharmacy staff reported a high level of satisfaction with the back-end of the GetMyRx platform, Angel said. GetMyRx is next planning to expand into other major metro markets.
