Lion cub and mother on display at Zoo Miami

  • For the first time in Zoo Miami history, a lioness and her cub are on public display together. Baby K’wasi and mom Asha will be on display every morning from 10 a.m. to noon. Ron Magill / Zoo Miami

  • K’wasi was born on Dec. 15, 2013, and has had several health challenges that he has had to overcome including bacterial infections and dehydration. The male cub was named after a famous African warrior, honoring the battles he went through regarding his health. Ron Magill / Zoo Miami
