We in Florida truly are stuck on stupid. Here we go again with a bill moving forward in the Florida Legislature that would allow non-police personnel to carry firearms in schools.
Let us remember schools are filled with children. Some of them can get a little rambunctious. Part of the bill allows the principal to designate who can carry a weapon.
Let us do a little math problem, add a designated teacher with a gun, plus a rambunctious student plus Stand Your Ground. This is a Common Core question with some higher-level thinking required. Add it all up, and what do you have? Answer: another tragedy.
