Miami-Dade Commissioner Javier Souto is convinced the Cuban influence in Miami has made it a better place to live. I don’t think that is entirely true. Yes, there are many more Latin restaurants. However, trying to find employment in this area is impossible unless you are bilingual and Spanish is your second language.
I don’t think the Miami-Dade commissioner’s job is to decide which company can do business in other lands. The Odebrecht corporation has done work at the airport for many years and it has done excellent work. The company is based in Brazil, and has projects all over the world. There are many more important issues for Miami-Dade commissioners to tackle. The most important is the budget, the sewer upgrades and, of course, the library problem.
