The recent closing of westbound I-395 because of a serious accident made me late for an appointment when I was eastbound on the causeway. Apparently many eastbound drivers were not in a hurry and slowed down to take in the gravity of the accident. Once we got past the accident site, traffic sped up.
In France, if there’s a major road accident, the first thing the police do is surround the scene with a pop-up screen, which keeps traffic moving in both directions. If we can build Lexus lanes, we can afford those screens.
