Aventura Mall’s owners, Turnberry Associates, has filed blueprints and renderings with the city of Aventura that show the shopping center’s next planned expansion.

The drawings show the new wing at the mall, which will jut out from the area where Sephora is located on the first floor, and the food court, on the second floor.

The new area will house about 30 stores, and will have a food court, though it will have fewer tenants than the 18 in the current food court, said Jackie Soffer, principal with Turnberry Associates. The expansion is expected to be completed by 2016.

Turnberry completed its last major expansion in 2008, adding Nordstrom and various other stores.
