  • After finishing the 5th Annual SunSmart 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne, David Cofresi gets on bended knee to propose to Jaimie Calixto. The Orlando couple, parents of daughters ages 2 and 6, raced in the run/walk with Cofresi's father, David Cofresi of Miami, a runner who celebrated his 50th birthday Saturday. The younger Cofresi planned the proposal to a T; an event announcer called Calixto to the stage on the pretense of her winning a post-race raffle, and blindfolded her to await the prize. That's when Cofresi jumped on the stage, tore off his race shirt to reveal a "Jaimie Will You Marry Me?" shirt, and popped the question. Calixto -- by then not blindfolded -- wiped away tears and said yes.
