Man in Mini Cooper dies in single car crash on Interstate 95 in Broward

A 64-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning after he lost control of his car and struck the concrete median as he exited Interstate 95 at State Road 84 in Broward, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Killed was Jean Claude Joseph Lattes, of Miami, who was “traveling at a high rate of speed,” in his Mini Cooper and didn’t properly negotiate the turn, FHP said.

FHP said he sideswiped the concrete barrier wall and ended up in the intersection of westbound State Road 84 where he struck the median wall.

Lattes died at the scene.
