Westwood Christian wins third district crown in a row

 

The Westwood Christian boys’ basketball team won its third consecutive District 16-3A crown on Saturday with a 79-54 victory over Palmer Trinity.

Dustin Hernandez made a living behind the three-point line for Weswood (19-7), converting on five attempts from long range. Hernandez accounted for a game-high 15 points. Eugene Joseph added 14 points, and Shere Desinor scored 11.

Joey Jou scored five points to go along with a game-high 12 rebounds.

Jack Nelson Joseph scored 12 points and dished out six assists for the Warriors.

Ransom Everglades boys’ basketball team defeated Gulliver Prep 58-31 to claim the District 16-4A crown behind Trey Mourning’s 27 point, 11 rebound and four block performance.

Freshman Davian Bryan scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Coral Reef past Southridge in the District 16-8A final on Friday.

Senior Davis Bargamento had an efficient championship performance for the Barracudas with 13 points, eight assists, seven steals and six rebounds.

Zavier Peart scored 18 points and snatched eight rebounds.
