D-Backs snag Arroyo

Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed free- agent hurler Bronson Arroyo.

The deal, consummated on Friday, is for two seasons, and worth $23.5 million with a club option for 2016.

The 36-year-old right-hander finished 14-12 with a 3.79 earned run average over 32 starts for the Cincinnati Reds last season, his eighth and final with the franchise.

Since breaking into the majors with the Pirates in 2000, the Florida native has compiled a 138-127 record, 4.19 ERA and 1,479 strikeouts in 2,278 2/3 innings over 391 appearances (355 starts).
