The 10th annual Marjory Stoneman Douglas Festival is scheduled Feb. 18-22 at the Museum of the Everglades in Everglades City. Best known for Everglades: River of Grass, first published in 1947, the author, journalist and environmental activist presented the concept that the Everglades was not simply a swamp but part of a vast, vital eco-system. The festival features daily activities, including tram tours, nature walks, canoe tours and workshops.
