Re the Jan. 28 letter Move immigration reform forward: It is interesting that Siro del Castillo wants to help “aspiring Americans without papers.” What a nice way to say “illegal.” How can one claim that these wonderful folks have lofty values when they flout the very laws they will look to hide behind.
They have no values at all if they are willing to step on the throats of dedicated, naturalized citizens who spent, possibly, their whole fortune and waited untold months to achieve what others want for nothing.
I do agree that immigration system is broken. It needs to be fixed — as in strengthened — so that we don’t have to continually pour out billions of dollars annually to support those here “without papers.”
