BSO investigating death of woman in Parkland

An investigation is underway after the body of a woman was found in Parkland.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office said they received a call about a domestic disturbance inside a home in the gated community of Heron Bay.

When deputies arrived, they found the body of Dacota Stewart-Dick, 53, in a home at 12471 NW 78th Manor.

Investigators said she died of apparent stab wounds.

Her husband Alrick Oral Brown, 38, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“We have what appears to have been a domestic related incident that turned into a very violent scene,” said Gina Carter of BSO.
