Tallahassee, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - K.J. McDaniels poured in 26 points to lift the Clemson Tigers to a 53-49 decision over the Florida State Seminoles in an Atlantic Coast Conference bout at the Donald L. Tucker Center.
McDaniels also pulled down seven rebounds and blocked three shots for the Tigers (14-6, 5-3 ACC), who also received 10 points and six boards from Jaron Blossomgame. The victory snapped Clemson's two-game losing streak.
Aaron Thomas led FSU (13-8, 4-5) with 13 points.
The Seminoles took a narrow 20-17 lead into the intermission after they shot 38.1 percent from the field in the opening period. The Tigers were limited to 28.6 percent efficiency from the floor in the first half.
Clemson improved to sink 56.5 percent of its shots from the floor including 5- of-10 from beyond the arc in the second period. FSU cooled off to make only 30.8 percent of its field goal tries after the break, but kept it close by converting 12-of-15 attempts at the free-throw line.
The Tigers enjoyed a 33-29 edge in the rebounding battle. FSU lost despite holding a 13-2 advantage in points off of turnovers.
