Sunday, in Miami Beach, there will be another “run.” Miami Beach needs to consider installing a couple of portable pedestrian overpasses, one on Fifth Street and another around Lincoln Road, so that people living on the Beach will not be imprisoned in their neighborhoods during this event. Police forbid folks to cross to the other side of the street. They have to wait until the last runner completes his or her accomplishment.
Consider this: Miami Beach is violating the rights of those who can’t reach their place of worship because of this small, untimely inconvenience. The solution is to place overpasses for the runners along this route.
