Rockies ink Corpas to minor league deal

Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Colorado Rockies have signed pitcher Manuel Corpas to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Corpas went 1-2 with a 4.54 ERA in 31 appearances last season with the Rockies.

The 31-year-old Corpas has struggled since thriving as a rookie closer in 2007, when he saved 19 games. After missing the entire 2011 season due to Tommy John surgery, Corpas went 0-2 with a 5.01 ERA in 48 games with the Cubs in 2012.

The right-hander is 13-20 with 34 saves and a 4.14 ERA in 359 career games with the Rockies and Cubs.
