Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - T.J. Warren dropped in a game-high 30 points to lead the NC State Wolfpack over the Florida State Seminoles, 74-70, in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup at PNC Arena.
For the Wolfpack (14-7, 4-4 ACC), winners of three straight, Desmond Lee added 11 points.
Okaro White led the Seminoles (13-7, 4-4) with 20 points, while Ian Miller finished with 17 and Aaron Thomas chipped in with 12.
NC State shot 41 percent from the field in the first half, including 3-of-10 from 3-point range, as it took a 39-33 lead at halftime. Florida State shot just 39.4 percent but did make 3-of-9 from beyond the arc.
Both squads were able to find the basket in the second half. The Wolfpack connected on 51.7 percent of their field goal attempts, though hitting just 1- of-5 from 3-point range. The Seminoles tried to keep pace by draining 47.8 percent of their shots from the floor and 4-of-10 from deep. Trailing by two, 67-65, with under five minutes to play, the Wolfpack ran off seven straight points and never trailed again, as they held off the Seminoles to secure the victory.
NC State dominated down low, outscored Florida State in the paint, 42-26. The Seminoles did finish with a 40-37 rebounding advantage.
