Judge sets Justin Bieber arraignment date

Eddy Vasquez / AP

Justin Bieber’s Valentine’s Day date won’t be with new flame, model Chantel Jeffries, but a South Florida judge on charges of DUI, resisting arrest and driving with an expired license.

A Miami-Dade County judge on Tuesday set a Feb. 14 arraignment date for the troubled 19-year-old. In an arraignment, prosecutors formally file charges and a plea is entered, although a defendant’s lawyer can enter the plea in writing. Good news for Biebs: He might not be required to attend.

As of Monday, Biebs was still hanging with Jeffries, as well as mentor Usher and manager Scooter Braun in Panama. It is believed Bieber is actually also working, shooting a music video in the beach town of Punta Chame for the song Confident.

Music men

Is there a new band in the works? Miami Heat stars LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem took the stage at teammate Shane Battier’s third annual Battioke charity event at The Fillmore in Miami Beach Monday night wearing T-shirts that read “The Heatles” and busting out into Blurred Lines. The event’s special guest was Hangover star Ken Jeong (who sang a wobbly rendition of The Backstreet Boys’ I Want it That Way with Battier and Greg Oden). Spies say the doctor turned character actor definitely should not be quitting his day job. Check out amusing clips on the Heat’s Instagram account.

In her shoes

Ain’t no Manolo Blahnik high enough for Sex and The City haute-heel addict Carrie Bradshaw. So it’s only fitting Sarah Jessica Parker is launching her own shoes, SJP Collection, next month at Nordstrom and SJP is set to present the line in person at the Aventura store March 8. More glamorous details to come.
