Timed to coincide with the Winter Music Conference and Ultra Music Festival, a new technology conference aims to converge the traditional music industry with emerging technologies.
The first MIA Music Summit is planned for March 24 at New World Center in Miami Beach. The event will include 30 to 40 keynote speakers from around the world, panel discussions, demos and musical performances, and will explore trends in digital music and audio hardware, said Demian Bellumio of the MIA Collective, which is organizing the conference. The day will conclude with a live concert.
Prior to the summit, a Music Hack Day will take place at The LAB Miami in Wynwood March 22-23. At the event, 50 to 100 developers will come up with technology applications for the music industry. At the end of the Hack Day, judges will award prizes and select five finalists to present their applications at the summit, Bellumio said.
