Restaurant rape suspect arrested by North Miami Beach police

North Miami Beach police have arrested a suspect in the sexual assault of a woman.

The woman was picking up food from a restaurant in the 1000 block of North Miami Beach Boulevard when she was approached by two men wearing gloves and armed with guns.

She was forced into a van and driven to the Oak Grove neighborhood of North Miami-Dade, where she was assaulted, according to police. The woman was driven around to various gas stations and restaurants before being dropped off at her home.

North Miami Beach declined to release the name of the person arrested over the weekend or any other details, citing the ongoing investigation. The juvenile was charged with armed sexual battery, armed carjacking, armed kidnapping and possession of marijuana.
