Wendy Hammond’s ‘Julie Johnson’ follows the personal journey of a New Jersey mom from abused, uneducated wife to a woman who discovers her authentic self through pursuing her intellectual dreams and finding love with the woman who is her best friend. Valentina Izarra, here with Doug Wetzel as Julie’s influential teacher, is radiant in the title role of the Kutumba Theatre Project production.
