A car crash early Friday in Hialeah killed a driver and seriously injured a police officer.
Robert Morales, a four-year veteran of the Hialeah Police Department, was on duty when he collided with Amado Arcia Lapido, 36, at the intersection of West Eighth Avenue and 49th Street at about 5 a.m. Both had serious injuries and were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital by helicopter.
