Stop! In sickness and health and all that.... what happened to Captain & Tennille? After nearly four decades of marriage, it’s over for Toni Tennille and Daryl Dragon. According to paperwork obtained by ABC News, Tennille, 73, filed for divorce from Dragon, 71, in Arizona.
In 2010, Tennille announced on her blog that Dragon had a neurological disorder similar to Parkinson's. “[His condition] causes him to have tremors...pretty severe at times,” she wrote. “Some days he does pretty well.... other days his playing is severely compromised.” The blog has an update on Jan 16: “The Captain & Tennille appeared to the public as them being the ideal model for a 'rock-solid' married pair. But almost all people naturally evolve over time, & sometimes hidden feelings start to be uncovered ...”
The captain told TMZ he was blindsided by his wife’s filing. “I gotta figure it out.”
Some fans think they already have figured it out: That Toni is taking this action for health insurance reasons and that his coverage might be better if Dragon were single.
