Illinois: Chicago’s Pritzker Military Museum & Library opens Metz exhibit

Pritzker Military Museum & Library

Chicago’s Pritzker Military Museum & Library has opened an exhibition showcasing World War II-era aircraft. The collection of more than 2,500 books and 1,800 model airplanes is a gift from the family of Charles E. Metz, who died in 2012. Metz obtained the items over five decades, and the items will be available to researchers as well as the public. The books include rare titles, including Juan Carlos Salgado’s Focke Wulf FW 200 Condor. Metz, a longtime instructor at the University of Chicago, was known for his work in health-related imaging science.
