9 immigrants in custody after coming ashore in Palm Beach

Nine suspected immigrants are in custody after coming ashore on the north end of Palm Beach Tuesday morning, police spokesman Fred Hess said.

A passerby alerted authorities to a boat ashore in the 400 block of North County Road at 7:05 a.m., Hess said. Officers searching the area have found nine people and continue their search with the help of a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s helicopter. No one is reported injured.
